Wayne A. Bromberg of Talbott, passed away suddenly Friday, June 26, 2020. He was a licensed local Pastor serving the Lord as pastor to the congregation of First United Methodist Church of Bulls Gap since July 2017. He was born in Amsterdam, NY. His family moved to Pennsylvania in 1966 where he resided until 1990 when he accepted a position with Phillips/Magnavox. After leaving that company, he pursued his passion for ministry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manfred and Elizabeth Searles Bromberg and two sisters, Joan Bromberg Stine and Barbara Bromberg Gawron.
In addition to his church ministry, he ministered to others using his talents as a clown. He made children happy at Morristown’s Chick-fil-A for several years by making balloon animals. He also performed as a stilt walker at Dollywood; always proclaiming his faith in the word of the gospel. He was a member of the Bulls Gap Lion’s Club and was an avid supporter of the National Parks and the Humane Society.
He is survived by his wife Nora Holmes Bromberg of 51 years; three daughters, Rebecca Bromberg Burgett of Corryton, TN, Nicole Bromberg Sedqwick of Granbury, TX and Jessica Bromberg Pope of Lakeland, FL; eight grandchildren, Ezekiel, Gabriel, Ezra, Jackson, Zaeda, Jacob, Zachary and Ziva; one sister, Jean Bromberg Geary; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Greeting of friends will be held from 3:00 – 4:30pm Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at First United Methodist Church in Bulls Gap. Due to COVID19, a private memorial service will be held at 5:00pm with Reverend James Brooks officiating. Graveside services will held at a later date.
